Somers and Argus shares surge
Shares of Somers Ltd and Argus Group Holdings Ltd both surged to 52-week highs in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
Somers climbed $1.50, or 9.7 per cent, to close on $17 as 1,100 shares of the financial-services holding company changed hands.
Insurer Argus jumped 30 cents, or 7.3 per cent, to close on $4.40, as 2,914 shares traded.
Fellow insurer BF&M Ltd fell 74 cents, or 3.5 per cent, to close on $20.26 as 500 shares were exchanged.
Butterfield Bank also slipped, shedding 25 cents, or 0.8 per cent, to close on $33, as 3,674 shares changed hands. Butterfield’s US-listed shares gained 86 cents, or 2.61 per cent, to close on $33.77 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The BSX Insurance Index closed down 14.22 points, or 0.83 per cent, to close on 1,697.05.
