Derrick Binns was formally sworn in as the new Cabinet Secretary this afternoon in a ceremony at Government House.

Dr Binns, who replaces former Cabinet Secretary Donald Scott, previously held various civil servant posts including permanent secretary for Labour, Home Affairs and Housing and, more recently, Environment and Planning.

As Cabinet Secretary, he will be responsible for the Cabinet Office and chair the Civil Service Executive.
