Style Bermuda brought a taste of New York's Mercedes Benz fashion week to a lucky young Bermudian.

Nineteen-year-old Brittany Wolffe, a contributor to Style Bermuda, joined the site's founder, Shiona Turini, for a weekend of education in fashion and fun. Brittany attended shows with Style Bermuda's US contributor Janell Hickman for top designers such as: Rock and Republic, Miss Sixty, Baby Phat, Marc by Marc Jacobs and more.

Miss Wolffe was able to meet Jaslene, winner of 'America's Next Top Model' as well as world-renowned runway coach Miss Jay (ANTM), and was seated inches away from celebrities such as Rihanna, Russell Simmons, Jim Jones, Ashley Olsen and more of fashion's elite, including some of the top New York editors and stylists.

A tour of W magazine also enabled the young fashionista and future entrepreneur to personally talk to industry professionals and meet editors.

Not only that, Brittany got a heads up on what the styles and trends will be for next Fall 2008.

"Going to the shows and seeing celebrities was a great overall experience," she said. "This experience offered me an opportunity to meet and connect with top individuals in fashion.

"Eventually I would like to open my own boutique, so it was a great experience and practice for the future."

The CedarBridge graduate who currently works at E.R. Aubrey Jewellers, first partnered with Style Bermuda via its internship programme in conjunction with Style and Fashion.

The opportunity first introduced her to the NY fashion industry via a work shadow programme that enabled Wolffe access to such fashion houses as YSL and Louis Vuitton, entrance to public relations and fashion production firms like KCD Worldwide, and publishing empires like Vibe, Glamour and America Magazine.

"Beyond our focus on fashion, art and design, Style Bermuda aims to support the growth of young entrepreneurs and trend setters, Shiona Turini said if the group's work.
