Gibbons Company is to take over The Knick Knack premises on Reid Street. David A. White, managing director of The Knick Knack, said he had no comment at this stage. Gibbons Company managing director, David Gibbons, said: "We are in advanced discussions with Mr. White with a view to getting a long term lease and expanding our existing operation into his existing retail area."

The negotiations cast a new light on the recent closure of Kitchen Korner, the household goods store at the junction of Church and Parliament streets. In a recent interview with the Bermuda Sun, The Knick Knack vice president, Robert Rego said the company planned to combine the resources of Kitchen Korner and The Knick Knack in one location. However it now appears that staff from Kitchen Korner who recently relocated to Reid Street are in for another upheaval.
