New Premier Alex Scott announced his new cabinet today - out go Health Minister Nelson Bascome, Housing Minister David Burch and Environment Minister Dennis Lister.

Eugene Cox stays on at Finance while his daughter Paula Cox keeps education but also becomes Attorney General and Minister of Justice.

New MP Patrice Parris becomes Health Minister while former Home Affairs Minister Terry Lister takes on Housing and Works and Engineering where he will have to deal with both the delayed Berkeley project and the Bermuda Housing Corporation scandal.

On Berkeley, he said it was more important to get a quality school than hit the deadline of September 2003.

Replacing Mr. Lister at Home Affairs is Randy Horton who said he would continue Mr. Lister's hard-line on six-year work permit limits.

Also new in the Cabinet is Dale Butler at Community Affairs and Sport and Ashfield DeVent who has the roving role of Minister without Portfolio, replacing Neletha Butterfield who takes on Environment.

Michael Scott enters the cabinet as Minister of Legislative Affairs and will continue to sit in the Senate.

Deputy Premier Dr. Ewart Brown remains at Transport while Renee Webb remains at Tourism, Telecommunications and E-Commerce.
