BHF SCHOLARS

The three BHF brothers, Premier Ewart Brown, Philip Butterfield and Vincent Hollinsid are with the four scholarship winners totaling $48,000 for this year. Aaronae EvansMs Evans will be attending Atlanta Metropolitan College pre-nursing programme in September, 2010. This will be the start of her journey to become a registered nurse and eventually a mid-wife. Aaronae is presently employed as a Geriatric Aide at the Sylvia Richardson Care Facility in St. George's and she has received glowing recommendations from the Staff Nurse and the Nursing Coordinator at Sylvia Richardson. Aaronae attended the Berkeley Instituted before enrolling at Bermuda College.Gerd'ai Hassell

Aaronae Evans

Gerd'ai Hassell

Ms Hassell is a former student of the Berkeley Institute is presently majoring in Public Health with a concentration in Health Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was recently awarded a certification for outstanding academic achievement and she was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Additionally she has been nominated for an award for her contributions to the Women's Gender Studies Programme. Gerd'ai's eventual career goal is to be Obstetrician/Gynaecologist.

Laura Robinson

Ms Robinson completed a Master of Science Degree in Forensic Psychology with distinction from the University of Kent in 2009. She is now studying for a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology at the University of Birmingham. On completion of her studies, Laura is planning to return to Bermuda and work in either the court system or the prison system where she can provide rehabilitative programmes for offenders. Laura is a graduate of Bermuda High School for Girls.

Jasmine Whitehurst

Ms Whitehurst will begin studies at St. Mary's University in September on her way to fulfilling her dream of being a surgeon. She is a graduate of CedarBridge Academy and the Bermuda College. During her time at CedarBridge and Bermuda College, Jasmine was very involved in extra-curricular activities, including the National Honours Society. Her current experience at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital shadowing internists has given her a taste of what is to come for her in the future.
