An Island wide promotion for children "to buckle up'' was launched by The Shell Company of Bermuda in conjunction with the Bermuda Road Safety Council.

Children seen to be buckled up while in a car at a Shell station, were eligible for weekly prizes and four grand prizes.

In total, 1,628 people participated. A girl's bicycle and a boy's bicycle, a week of half-day tennis lessons and a trip to Dolphin Quest were the grand prizes.
