Book day celebrated by schoolchildren

Schoolchildren got into character to celebrate World Book Day last week.

Pupils at Harrington Sound Primary School were asked to dress up as their favourite storybook character to promote reading by youngsters.

Cindy Weeks, the school’s principal, said: “This Covid-19 pandemic may have restricted our ability to be flexible, and heightened our awareness and adherence to the many health protocols, but as a school community, it has not dampened our passion for learning and the joy of reading.

"We make the most of moments like this as it allows the specialness of the school experience to still exist, despite the challenges faced with the pandemic.“
