ZURICH (Reuters) — Swiss Re said yesterday it expected to conclude exclusive talks on the sale to an unidentified buyer of its "Gherkin" tower in London's traditional financial district by early next year.A statement by the Swiss company said it had received worldwide interest from "a large group of potential quality investors" in the glass and steel building at 30 St. Mary Axe, in the heart of the City.
Swiss Re said it would continue to occupy the tower, designed by Norman Foster and known as the Gherkin because of its elliptical shape, as its main tenant after the sale was completed.
