Bermuda Stripping and Refurbishing undergoes new restructure

Family affair: John Madeiros, managing director, Tony Madeiros, owner/president and Anthony Madeiros, assistant supervisor at BS&R

Bermuda Stripping and Refinishing has undergone a series of new changes in a bid to enhance its product offering and customer service.

In the newly-restructured craftsmenship company, BS&R Group will become the new parent company encompassing Bermuda Stripping and Refinishing, T-Made Custom Carpentry and Bermuda Antique Restoration.

The Shutter Shop's been renamed T-Made Custom Carpentry to reflect its services which go far beyond shutters. T-Made Custom Carpentry will be a full-service custom carpentry and architectural millwork shop that produces doors, windows, shutters, mantels, handrails, balustrades, mouldings, cabinetry and any wooden piece for the home, with every job custom made to order

Bermuda Antique Restorations will be the new name of the division previously known as Atlantique and Bermuda Classics. This division of BS&R Group specialises in restoring antique furniture to bring classic pieces back to life. Bermuda Antique Restorations also produces skilled reproductions of classic Bermuda furniture, such as Queen Anne chairs and Bermuda Cedar Blanket Chests with fancy dovetails and traditional 'onion' feet.

The final division of BS&R Group has not undergone a name change along with the rest of the company. Bermuda Stripping and Refinishing's staff restore the finish of any type of wood or metal furniture, doors, windows and architectural woodwork, making worn-out items look like new when restored with their high quality, durable finishes. The division can also replace vinyl straps on pool furniture and de-rust any metal objects.

BS&R Group's name change came about as an attempt to eliminate confusion that the company's customers had about its services.

"We had customers come in, thinking that all we did was stripping and refinishing," said owner Tony Madeiros. "They'd enter our showroom and be stunned by the extent of the work we do.

"We feel the name changes will reflect more of who we are and what we do."
