yesterday when the prison van in which he was travelling collided with a truck.

The accident, which was described as minor by Prisons Commissioner Mr. Edward Dyer, occurred as the van was heading to Hamilton.

While passing the Bermuda Aquarium, it grazed an oncoming US Navy truck causing the wing mirrors to shatter. Glass flew inside the van which contained three prisoners and a driver.

Mr. Dyer said the van was on a "regular duty run'' from the Prison Farm into Hamilton.

"Only one of them was cut, and I saw the prisoner myself a few hours ago.

He's fine,'' Mr. Dyer said.

The prisoner was examined by the Prison Medical Officer, who found that the man was not seriously hurt. He was back in the Prison Farm last night.
