Fined for threatening police officer

A Southampton man admitted to behaving in a threatening manner and obstructing a Police officer when he received a parking ticket.

Tyrone Calvin Simmons, of Scroggin Hill, was charged with behaving in a threatening manner in a public place, L.F. Wade International Airport, and willfully obstructing PC Richard Saints.

Magistrates' Court heard from Crown counsel Cindy Clarke officers were on duty at the airport issuing parking tickets when they saw a grey Peugeot car and went to write a ticket.

The 33-year old ran to the car, jumped in and tried to drive away.

He said: "I don't have time for this f***ing s**t. Give me my f***king keys before I f**k you up".

PC Saints felt threatened for his life and safety and called other officers for back-up.

Simmons made a quick move with his hands like he was going to punch the officer and PC Saints used pepper spray to subdue him.

Simmons told the court he was sorry but disagreed with half of the report.

He was fined $500 for each offence.
