Seminar will show women how to find time for God

For those women who feel like they are spreading themselves too thin between work, their family and community obligations, next week's Bermuda Interdenominational Women's Conference may help.

The four-day conference -- November 21 to 24 -- at the Sonesta Beach Hotel will feature a seminar entitled "I'm Every Woman''.

Maybelle Denwiddie, of Warwick Holiness Church, said she planned to discuss how women could juggle the vast number of roles they play in their daily lives and how to still have time for God.

"I want to examine who you are spiritually, how many roles you play and how to prioritise your day and functions so you have time alone to meditate and be alone with God,'' Mrs. Denwiddie said.

She said the goal of her Friday seminar was to encourage locals to be focused on a relationship with Christ and spend quality time with Him.

"Only then can they put things in perspective, when He is first in their lives,'' Mrs. Denwiddie added. "I find when you put Him first, everything else comes easy.'' And she said she hoped that the audience would leave her seminar committed to having a tangible relationship with God.

Mrs. Denwiddie said it was a good idea to have only women attend the conference, but she added that there should be something of this nature for men as well.

"When I was approached to do this I was so excited,'' the mother-of-three explained. "I feel that this is an area where I can speak from experience since I also wear many hats.'' Mrs. Denwiddie attended the West Indies School of Theology as well as the Miracle Valley Bible College.

She has worked as a full-time evangelist in the US serving as an Associate Minister as the Bread of Life Tabernacle in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

While living abroad, Mrs. Denwiddie co-founded a City Wide Youth Fellowship in Battle Creek, Michigan, and was a member of the Battle Creek Commission.
