Rain-soaked commute

Bumper-to-bumper traffic jams built up on Front Street by 4 p.m yesterday, as eager commuters headed for home and out of the wet weather. More than half an inch of rain fell in the 24 hours prior to 7.30 p.m. yesterday, according to the Bermuda Weather Centre. Two gusts of wind at 37 knots were recorded at the Airport at 8 a.m. and noon, although it was not necessary to cancel any flights. The wet and windy weather is expected to continue today.
