Two goalkeeping errors by Antoine Lightbourne proved costly for Dandy Town as North Village pocketed the points at Devonshire Rec. last night.

Referee Cal Simons was kept busy with seven bookings, six for Dandy Town and one for Village, as the match threatened to get out of control with emotions running high in both teams.

Village took the lead in the 32nd minute when, on what should have been a simple catch by Lightbourne from a cross from Cal Dill, the ball was dropped and Jamel (Mouse) Smith tapped home the rebound.

Town were right back in the game four minutes later when Reggie Tucker returned a pass into the six-yard box from a move on the opposite flank and Mark Trott headed home.

The match started to get rough in the first half with Simons booking two players in injury time when he cautioned Town pair Seyoum Tuzo and Devarr Boyles.

Simons was also at the centre of an incident early in the second half when a pass from Boyles accidently hit him in the face and he needed treatment from the North Village physio.

Trott was booked in the 57th minute for throwing the ball at Kofi Dill after Village had won a throw-in and seconds later coach Mark Trott replaced his namesake.

Village made a double substitution in the 64th minute when Lionel Cann and Daniel Jennings came on for Kevin Jennings and Irving Romaine. A minute after that they scored what would prove to be the winning goal.

Lightbourne, charging out of his goal, brought down Jemeiko Jennings and was booked in the process. Jamel Smith scored easily from the spot.

Cal Dill and Dano Outerbridge were booked in an incident which nearly got out of hand and Dean Bailey was also cautioned for encroachment on the Village free kick which resulted.

A save by Lightbourne denied Dill a goal in the closing minutes after the Village midfielder twisted away from two tackles inside the box.
