Topsy-turvy trading week for KeyTech

KeyTech Ltd rose by a double-digit percentage in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading last week, while LOM (Holdings) Ltd and BF&M both took a tumble.

Telecommunications group KeyTech gained 46 cents, or 11.5 percent, in a topsy-turvy week of trading. Having plunged six percent Thursday, it rocketed nearly 19 percent on Friday. The stock closed the week on $4.45, as 33,958 of its shares traded.

Dealer-broker LOM fell 15 cents, or 6.7 percent, to close the week on $2.10, as 21,050 shares changed hands.

Insurer BF&M Ltd fell $1.04, or 5.9 percent, on light volume, to close the week on $16.70, as 575 shares were traded.

Ascendant Group Ltd also fell, shedding 15 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $6.35, as 16,380 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank, which announced a deal to buy part of HSBC’s Cayman banking operations last week, remained unchanged on $1.99 as 44,273 shares were traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 3.61 points, or 0.26 percent during the five days of trading to close at 1,378.86 on Friday.

Nearly 118,000 shares were traded and turnover topped $410,000.
