Fairmont promotes two Bermudians

Promoted: Fairmont staff Kanhai Woolridge and Nicole Neal

Fairmont Hotels Bermuda today announces the promotion of two Bermudians, one at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess and one at The Fairmont Southampton.

Kanhai Woolridge has been promoted to outlet captain at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, bringing with him a range of experience and proven dedication to his career. Mr. Woolridge joined the hotel in December 2004 as a set-up crew attendant and in March 2007 transferred to the food and beverage department as a banquet porter, a role in which he was given additional responsibilities and where he learned the food and beverage side of the business.

In his new role, Mr. Woolridge will ensure that the food and beverage operation runs smoothly, which includes dealing with guest complaints, overseeing staff training, taste testing, ensuring standards are met and motivating staff.

Mr. Woolridge studied hospitality management at Bermuda College and received several scholarships. At the Belco VIP Awards in 2008, he was nominated for the Youth with Most Promise Award.

Nicole Neal has been promoted to assistant front desk manager at The Fairmont Southampton after working as a front desk agent. In the new role, Ms. Neal is responsible for managing front desk operations when the front desk manager is not available. This includes supervising, training and leading the front desk staff who are responsible for checking guests in and out of the hotel. Ms. Neal has a varied background in Bermuda's hospitality industry.

Ms. Neal attended Saltus Junior School where she was deputy head girl. She then went on to Saltus Senior School where she sat on the Student Council and worked as a peer mediator.
