BSX drops 50 points

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index slumped 50.54 points or 2.2 percent as the Bank of Bermuda closed down $2 to close at $33.
The 5.7 percent plunge in the bank's shares came on volume of 2,200 shares.
On the Nasdaq, the Bank of Bermuda did better, closing down 58 cents at $35.35 on volume of 16,000 shares.
The decline in the Index, which fell to 2,243.59, was offset by the Bank of Butterfield, which rose 50 cents to close at $21 on volume of 1,099 shares.
In other trading, BAS was unchanged at $7.50.
Total volume on the Exchange was 3,699 shares.
