A motorcyclist trying to overtake a bus smashed into another coming the opposite direction last night.

The Police received a call at 8.05 p.m. about the collision which happened on North Shore Road just east of the Aquarium, Museum and Zoo.

According to Police the motorcyclist was trying to overtake the bus travelling east when he hit a bus coming in the opposite direction.

He received injuries to his legs, which were not believed to be life threatening and was transported to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
