Magazine boost
success -- was helped further along the way this month by four leading publications featuring the Island in glossy colour spreads.
The focus of the campaign is Bermuda's favourable November to March temperatures, being promoted through the winter-temperature guarantee.
Now the Island could receive a further boost, with positive stories in four US publications.
The November 3 edition of Woman's World, which boasts a circulation of more than 1.4 million, features an article headed Bermuda -- A Rainbow of Colour.
"From the minute your plane touches the ground, you'll be treated to the courtesy of England, sweeping ocean vistas, pub lunches and the thrills of riding to the beach on a moped for two,'' wrote Jeanne Muchnick.
The December Bride's magazine (circulation 425,0340) is running a three-page article headed, "Bermuda -- What a Week'', with a honeymooners' itinerary of things to do from Day 1 to Day 7, including horseback riding, watersports, shopping, nightlife.
"Wouldn't it be lovely if the whole world were more like Bermuda -- scenic and serene, polished and polite,'' asks author Cynthia Penney.
The November 8 edition of the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution features Bermuda on the front page of its travel section: "It's not the Caribbean, but highs hit the 70s and the prices are cool''.
The article says the Island, often ignored as a wintertime getaway, "is an attractive Atlantic alternative to predictable Caribbean destinations'', adding that what it lacks in summery weather, it makes up for with special events and an unhurried atmosphere.
The winter-temperature-guarantee promotion was also highlighted in the October Travel Agent magazine (circulation 57,000), just in time for the November to March season.
