A happy customer experience

July 17, 2012Dear Sir,I am the “Frustrated Customer” who harped about poor customer service that plagues our tiny Island. After experiencing such poor treatment from numerous companies while moving, I must follow up with a positive customer service story involving one of our local companies, Furniture Walk. I had logged onto their very comprehensive site and found a coffee table, rug and end table that I was interested in purchasing. Firstly, I’d like to commend them immediately for their user friendly and comprehensive site that showcases hundreds of furniture options customers can order. After trying to buy a new moped, and being frustrated over the lack of information (or even lack of websites!) for local cycle shops, I was amazed at the depth of information the Furniture Walk website offers customers.After selecting my items, I e-mailed them through their contact centre asking for quotes regarding the three pieces. To my surprise, I received a response that afternoon with prices. I went back and forth with a salesperson, Henrietta (Hennie) Bean, and we decided it would be best to come in and look at the pieces before making the purchase. When I arrived at the store, I was pleasantly surprised at the stock they had, and was welcomed warmly by Hennie. She was extremely patient and kind while I hemmed and hawed over the purchase, chipping in with suggestions and feedback when asked, and her overall demeanour was delightful. I went ahead with the purchase, and she assured me the items would be delivered first thing the following Monday morning (I ordered the items on a Friday).At 9am the delivery men showed up at my door, exactly as timed (first shock!). They brought the pieces into my apartment, assembled them with care, and even, to my utter surprise, took the boxes and packaging with them when they left, all with a smile! My previous experience of purchasing furniture involved having items left on a step, or my porch, or unceremoniously dumped in the middle of my apartment, still boxed and unassembled. I would like to commend Furniture Walk for their excellent customer service, specifically Hennie Bean. I’m happy I now have a positive story to share, rather than my previous negative experiences, and will recommend them wholeheartly to anyone who is looking to purchase furniture.
