is considering legal action in the wake of an attack on his integrity broadcast yesterday afternoon on ZBM radio's Linda Westwater talk show.

Minister of Labour, Home Affairs, and Public Safety, Quinton Edness -- who is ironically a Director of the Bermuda Broadcasting Co. which owns ZBM -- yesterday told The Royal Gazette he had not yet heard a tape of comments made by well-known autograph hound Leon (Lee) Edmead, but was told by members of the public that Edmead had levelled a "scurrilous'' attack against him.

"I've had nasty things said about me in public before but never like this; as a politician all I have is my name and my word,'' Mr. Edness said. Mr. Edmead, a regular on local airwaves, accused Mr. Edness of taking bribes and payola, and told Ms Westwater he had the evidence to prove it.

When contacted last evening, however, Mr. Edmead denied he referred to Mr.

Edness by name, and refused to comment any further.

Mr. Edness is also questioning how the attack was allowed to go on and why the radio station didn't use its tape delay to edit the comments.
