Regional electrical companies to meet here
Electric utility company executives from across the Caribbean will fly into Bermuda for conference this May.
The association of Caribbean electric utility companies, CARILEC, and BELCO announced yesterday that the annual conference will be held at Fairmont Hamilton Princess this year.
BELCO President, Garry Madeiros, said: "We are honoured to be the host utility and delighted that CARILEC has selected Bermuda for the conference.
"The island was chosen thanks to Bermuda's reputation, the quality and value offered by Fairmont Hamilton Princess, and the CARILEC membership's interest in learning first hand about some of BELCO's plans for the future."
The conference will take place on May 21-23 and participants will include executives from a variety of electric utility companies, and their spouses, as well as representatives from related vendor companies.
Nigel Hosein, CARILEC executive director, said: "Our membership is enthusiastic about coming to Bermuda.
"We expect the 2007 conference will be very well attended due to an interesting agenda, which will be firmed up in the next few weeks, and the superb venue at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess."
This year the conference theme is 'Partnerships & Strategies for Success in a Borderless World'.
