Police said the culprits broke into the Pembroke secondary school on Thursday night.

The vandals spray-painted the corridors, stairwells, and new carpet and doorknobs with silver paint. Several classrooms were also broken into and then ransacked.

The school is undergoing a $600,000 facelift this summer. The improvements include upgrading classrooms, some electrical and ceiling improvements and some new furnishings.

One of the construction crew working on the school reported the theft of his Panasonic `boom box' radio/cassette player from one of the classrooms.

Meanwhile, staff of the Music Box on York Street, St. George's arrived at work last Wednesday to find someone had vandalised the storefront overnight.

Eggs had been smashed on the storefront and signage outside the building was also defaced.

The bag contained cash, credit cards, and other personal items.
