Household 'green awareness' campaign begins
Re-use bags and bottles - that's the green message to be spread Island-wide through a publicity campaign starting next week.
Environmental charity Greenrock will run ads on the radio and in the newspapers from March 24, and will also distribute e-posters for everyone to share.
In addition, the charity will explain the importance of carrying re-usable items in a comprehensive list of facts to be posted from today on its website www.greenrock.org.
Daren Bascome, a Bermudian, runs Boston-based creative design company Proverb, which is behind the campaign.
"Each fact on its own provides a good reason. But when you combine them together, it makes a very strong case on why Bermuda needs to start admitting to the realities of its consumptive behaviour and the impact this has both locally and globally," he commented.
The project has been aided by a $20,000 grant from the End-to-End walk's 20th Anniversary Fund.
