Goater finding the mark
175,000 as the new Bristol City striker netted two more goals on Saturday to give the club their first away win of the season.
The Bermudian became one of the top scorers in the division in the process when he took his tally for the season to seven -- four in the last two league matches -- as City won 3-2 away to Burnley to move into the top ten in the standings for the first time this season.
In the match Goater upstaged joint leading scorer Kurt Nogan who, along with Carl Asaba of Brentford, who tops the scoring chart with eight goals. Goater comes up against Asaba tonight when Bristol City, on 13 points, meet unbeaten leaders Brentford at home.
On Saturday, Goater broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when he controlled a cross from Brian Tinion and scored with a shot that went in off the far post.
Burnley drew level in the last minute of the half and then took the lead in the 55th minute before Goater got City back on level terms in the 62nd minute with a header into the top corner from a cross.
City have one of the best scoring records in the league this season, as well as one of the worst defences. They have scored 18 goals in nine league matches -- only Brentford with 19 have scored more -- while they have conceded 15.
Another Bermudian striker, Kyle Lightbourne, helped Walsall pick up their second win in the league when he scored in their 3-1 home win over Bury.
Lightbourne netted his third goal of the season in the 49th minute to put Walsall back in front after their 11th minute lead had been erased.
Walsall remain in the bottom three in the standings.
