Five students, under the watchful eye of their teacher, will check into the Hote l Aulivia Opera for four nights, ordering their meals, negotiating the Parisian subways and purchasing goods en francis .

MSA French teacher, Geraldine Booth, said: "The experience of practising a language in the country in which it is spoken can never by matched in the classroom. "I am thrilled that my senior students will have the opportunity both to try out what they have learned and to sample the atmosphere of Parisian streets and cafes,'' she added.

And MSA officials thanked Alliance Francaise des Bermudes for a "generous donation'' that will facilitate the trip.

The students, Kim Thornhill, Lauren Purvey, Cullen O'Hara, Sarah Lusher and Heidi Baptiste, will be reporting their experience in Young Observer .
