multi-million-dollar expansion plans.

And as of last night only the Bermuda National Trust had submitted a "protem'' letter (temporary objection) to the Planning Department.

In the letter received by the department yesterday, National Trust's environmental officer Miss Anne Steele said the environmental committee would meet to discuss the plans on Monday.

Architects from Cooper and Gardner, who drew up the plans, are expected to be at the meeting with models of the hotel plans which include 120 additional guest rooms, a $20,000-square-foot conference centre, 11 beach front "Palace'' suites, and 39 luxury "villa'' condominiums on the Fritholme Estate property purchased last year by Elbow Beach.

After Monday's meeting, the Trust will either withdraw the temporary objection or ask to be considered as objectors and submit grounds of objections.

The hotel's plans can be viewed at the Planning Department on the third floor of Government Administration Building.
