Girl, 10, injured on road crossing

Police are investigating after a ten-year-old girl was injured by a motorcycle as she attempted to cross the road.
The accident happened around 8.20 a.m. on Thursday on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, near the junction with My Lord's Bay Lane.
According to Police, it appears the motorcycle was travelling west in a line of traffic. When the traffic stopped at a pedestrian crossing, the motorcyclist overtook the line of traffic and collided with the girl.
The girl, from Hamilton Parish, sustained a head injury and a bruised left leg, while the bike rider, an 18-year-old Hamilton Parish woman, was not injured and her cycle undamaged. The girl was taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment.
