Fundraiser will feature Zumba exercise routines
A popular exercise craze is being used to drum up funds for the Bermuda Heart Foundation (BHF).A fundraiser held tonight at the Berkeley Institute will feature live entertainment, free refreshments, prizes and an hour-long workout. The audience will be encouraged to participate as instructors give a live demonstration of how the Zumba brand of exercise works.The Feel the Beat Party Hearty Zumba hopes to raise funds that will enable BHF and the Cardiac Outreach, Renewal and Educational Centre to continue their work in preventative cardiac treatment and education.The event will be hosted by Zumba Fitness instructor and BHF fundraising coordinator Keena Simmons.Zumba combines Latin and international music with dance. It uses specific beats and tempo changes to target every major muscle group in the body.Several companies have offered prizes for people who raise the most in pledges and some of the prizes range from one month of Zumba classes to a month of boot camp training with many more in between.Tonight’s event starts at 6 pm.
