Thelma Trott, The Catlin End-to-End<b/>

Thelma Trott has a passion for helping people in need. For over 20 years she has volunteered her time to various organisations whose mission's are sustained by people who donate their time.

One such organisation she volunteers with is End-to-End. End-to-End is a charity organisation which raises money by organising a walk from one end of the island to the other every year. People and businesses sponsor people to do the walk and funds raised go towards a number of good causes such as the Family Centre, Greenrock and Keep Bermuda Beautiful.

Ms Trott's inspiration to start volunteering came at a young age.

"I've always had a good example to follow through my parents," she says. "My mother and father would volunteer their time to their church as well as PTA groups."

Ms Trott has been volunteering her time with End-to-End since it started over 20 years ago.

"I used to greet people as they came in at the end of their walk and I would also collect money from people who were doing the walk," says Ms Trott. "They would have around a dozen tables set up which I would work at to do the collecting."

Not only does Ms Trott volunteer her time, but her work has also inspired her children, her sisters, her sister-in-law and her son's friends to volunteer.

"I think people should volunteer because it's always important to give rather than receive," says Ms Trott. "When you give you receive an uplifting of your spirit and you know you are helping someone who is in need."

Ms Trott has enjoyed volunteering for over two decades and notes: "All of the moments have been fun and I really enjoyed meeting and greeting the people as they finished their End-to-End walk."
