Police said that in the early hours of Sunday morning, the man was riding his bike along Devon Springs Road when he was knocked off and assaulted by several men.

"As he lay injured in the road the offenders removed his cycle and helmet and rode off,'' said Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning.

"The victim sustained facial injuries including two broken front teeth and cuts and abrasions to his arms and legs.'' The bike was a black Yamaha Alfa V100 and the black helmet was made by Griffin. Anyone with information is asked to contact Hamilton CID on 295-0011.
