Warwick resident Carole Holding featured on BBC radio
The wonders of Warwick have been broadcast to Warwick in the UK.
Resident Carole Holding was chosen to tell the world about her home in an interview with BBC Radio Coventry and Warwickshire at the weekend.
The station chose her "out of the blue" and asked her to describe life in the parish and life in Bermuda in general.
Ms Holding is a well-known artist on the Island. She owns four artwork and gift shops in Hamilton, St George's and the Fairmont Southampton and also runs 'Watercolours' guest house with her husband Joe Tee.
The couple has two daughters — Elizabeth, a public relations consultant, and Caroline, an artist and Pilates instructor.
Ms Holding, 63, took part in a live interview on Saturday, speaking for ten minutes about her everyday routine, lifestyle, and the unique features of Bermuda.
She said: "The interview really came out of the blue. I just got an e-mail asking if I would do this broadcast.
"They wanted to compare Warwick in England with Warwick in Bermuda.
"I spoke about my home and going to the beach, about taking the ferry over to work and the difficulty of parking in Hamilton. I also spoke about the nine parishes and what it was like living in the central parish.
"The interviewer also asked me what the latest gossip was in Warwick, and I said Southlands.
"They asked my opinion and I said I wasn't entirely against it because I'm a hotelier myself, so it can be seen as progress.
"But I said there was a lot of controversy, and opposition from the National Trust and environmentalists."
The radio station has been running the feature by talking to residents of places around the world with the same names as the villages, towns and cities of Warwickshire.
Ms Holding said: "It was an interesting concept, and was fun and interesting to do."
After the broadcast, BBC researcher Iunus Chand e-mailed her to say "the interview went well so thank you for taking part".
Describing why Ms Holding (which is her professional name) was chosen, he said: "There is no real selection process, I found your contacts on the Internet and spoke to you on the phone.
"You seemed nice and friendly and had an interesting background so we opted for you! We're very glad you chose to do it. I hope you enjoyed it."
