The most recent class of Police recruits is preparing themselves to serve Bermuda in uniform.

Kristyn Minors, David McHugh, Christopher Brady, Michael Charlton, Kidane Collins, Rhiannon Furbert, Patricia Jeffers, Khalid Pitcher, Cecilia Rogers and Nathaniel Tannock are all taking part in the 73rd Recruit Foundation Course.

Of the ten recruits, nine are Bermudian and one is the spouse of a Bermudian.

The six men and four women, who range in age from 19 to 42, are currently in the second week of the 25-week training course.

The programme is designed to teach law, procedure, and other practical aspects of policing.

The recruits will also receive safety training, physical training and get hands-on experience as they are deployed on Bermuda's streets to put their training to the test.

A Police spokesman said: "The aim of this course is to produce 'omni-competent' officers, with training in all the necessary aspects of policing, who are also trained Police drivers."
