GUN AND GRENADE FOUND IN HOUSE CTS Gun and grenade found in house A St. George's man was yesterday fined a total of $600 after Police found a pellet gun and a live smoke grenade at his Cut Hill home.
Princely Fubler, 29, was helping Police with another matter when his house was searched, Magistrates' Court heard.
The gun and grenade were found in a closet, said Inspector Peter Duffy, prosecuting.
A weapons expert found the gun was in working condition and the grenade live, added Insp. Duffy.
The grenade was a military type used by the Bermuda Regiment on manoeuvres at Ferry Reach. It releases heavy smoke when activated.
Fubler, who admitted possessing offensive weapons, said he picked up both items on the beach at Ferry Reach on January 14.
CRASH DRIVER FINED FOR DRUNK DRIVING CTS Crash driver fined for drunk driving A Warwick man injured in an accident while drink-driving was fined $350 and banned from the road for a year on Tuesday.
Marcus Tames-Berger, 33, pleaded guilty at Magistrates' Court to driving while impaired.
Tames-Berger, was riding an auxiliary cycle on Crow Lane, Paget at 2.25 a.m.
on July 25 when he crashed. No other vehicle was involved.
Inspector Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Tames-Berger was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to a lacerated scalp.
Police interviewed Tames-Berger in hospital, and later took breath samples in which he was registered at 135 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

Vance Hill appeared to be engaged in a transaction with another man on King Street on July 31, a magistrate was told on Tuesday.
Inspector Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said the pair fled in different directions after being approached by two constables at around 11.30 a.m.
Hill was pursued for about 200 yards through alleys and back yards, before being caught. No drugs were found on him.
The Wor. John Judge fined Hill $500 after he admitted obstructing Police.
