familiarise themselves with the Bermudian workplace.

According to Education Officer Mrs. Janette Musson, roughly 550 second-year high school students will visit the workplace of their choice after the Christmas break to gain some understanding of the type of work available on the Island.

The programme is a joint effort between the business community and the Department of Education and was developed to provide students the chance to observe and be exposed to the workplace.

The programme began in September. But students will not go out into the field until the winter term to spend a full day with a volunteer work guide.

Mrs. Musson said between 60 and 80 local businesses will be participating in the work shadowing scheme.

She added that on average, five people from each organisation will be shadowed by a student.

To date presentations, outlining the programme have been made at all Government secondary schools to give students a general overview.
