KBB clean team to hit Cambridge Road today
Volunteers from the Bermuda Police Service will join workers from Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) for the charity's April clean-up today at a difficult and badly littered area on Cambridge Road, Somerset.
KBB executive director Susan Harvey said in a release on Thursday that work would start at 9 a.m. and stop at mid-day.
"The site is on the left on Cambridge Road just after the junction with the main road through Somerset," Ms Harvey said. "The main Somerset Road runs past the MarketPlace on the left and about 100 yards further on the main road bends right and Cambridge Road runs straight ahead. Our objective is on the left just after the Gosling's store."
The KBB director also said the Ministry of Works and Engineering and Housing would provide two trucks to haul away trash while Police would bring equipment to remove abandoned vehicles.
All members of the clean up crew are then invited to picnic at Somerset Long Bay courtesy of Police Community officers for the Western area, P.c. Richie Lathan and P.c. Jarion Richardson, she said, which would include a free KBB T-shirt, which some volunteers have already received.
"But new volunteers will earn one for sure on this clean-up," Ms Harvey said. "Strong arms are needed on this pick-up."
More information is available at 295-5142, she said.
