Diverted flight

A cargo plane was diverted to Bermuda yesterday morning after reports of a “non-emergency mechanical abnormality” on board.
The aircraft, operated by Denmark-based airline Martinair, landed at LF Wade International Airport at around 11am.
“The Martinair cargo MD11 was en route from Amsterdam to Puerto Rico and experienced a non-emergency mechanical abnormality, the pilot in command made the decision to use Bermuda as an en route stop over to have this mechanical issued evaluated,” said George Rhodes, manager of airport operations.”
The flight was set to depart Bermuda either late last night or early this morning to continue its journey, depending on the results of the review.
