XL Capital was the toast of Bermuda's insurance sector after winning no fewer than three awards at one of the industry's top events held in New York.

They picked up the Best Bermuda Market Primary Insurance Company and Capital raising of the Year accolades at the Reactions Global Awards Dinner.

XL's president and CEO Brian O'Hara was also presented with the Lifetime Achievement award.

Meanwhile a number of other companies with a presence on the Island walked away with a clutch of awards, including Swiss Re (Best Global Reinsurance Company, Best Global Reinsurance Company for Casualty/Liability and Best Global Reinsurance Company for Life), AIG (Best Global Primary Insurance Company), Munich Re (Best Global Reinsurance Company for Property), Aspen Re (Best Global Reinsurance Company for Speciality Lines), Marsh & McLennan Companies (Best Global Insurance Broker), AON (Best Global Insurance Broker for Innovation) and KPMG (Best Accounting Firm of the Year).
