BF&M boosts the BSX

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index edged higher last week, thanks to an increase in the share price of BF&M Ltd.
The index gained 4.29 points, or 0.3 percent, over the trading week — shortened to four days by the Remembrance Day holiday — to close on 1,381.76.
BF&M gained 75 cents, or 4.2 percent, to close on $18.75, as 1,000 of the insurer’s shares changed hands.
Ascendant Group Ltd, fell ten cents, or 1.7 percent, to close on $5.90, on the trading of 800 shares.
Butterfield Bank was the only other company to trade, staying put on $2 as 5,000 shares were exchanged.
Trading volume for the week was 6,800 shares, while turnover was $33,470.
