SQUASH SQU Michael Shrubb recorded Bermuda's first victory in the Caribbean Junior Squash Champions in Nassau, Bahamas, yesterday when he scored a 3-1 triumph over Bahamian under-12 champion Scott Jupp.

Jupp won the first game 9-6 only to see Shrubb recover from the jitters and bounce back with 9-2, 9-4, 9-3 victories.

In the boys under-16 division Michael Stout edged Trinidad's Aadil Edou 9-10, 9-5, 9-2, 9-5 and Sam Stevens overcame fourth seed Julian Chin of Guyana 9-6, 9-1, 9-4.

In another boys under-12 first round match, Justin Robinson pulled off a 9-5, 9-6, 9-6 win over Bahamian Charles Bellot.
