Youth team complete clean sweep

Stephen Bremar jr smashed an unbeaten century (150) and off spinner Jade Foggo seized four wickets for 18 runs to propel Bermuda Under-19s to a clean sweep over touring side Haverford College at the National Sports Centre on Tuesday.

Led by the free-scoring bat of Bremar, Bermuda piled up a colossal total in their allotted 40 overs.

Bremar, who made his senior national team debut in Trinidad last month, gave a chance early during his knock but regained his concentration to hit ten fours and seven sixes off 103 balls before retiring his bat.

The Berkeley Institute student shared in an 89-run fourth wicket partnership with Jordon DeSilva who stroked 34 off 32 balls and another 43 runs with cousin Sean Perinchief (38) for the sixth wicket.

DeSilva hit two fours and a six while Perinchief?s runs came off 31 balls, including three fours and two sixes.

Western Stars? budding all-rounder Dennico Hollis added an unbeaten 17 lower down the order to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Rohan Dazel led the tourists? bowling with figures of two for 60 off eight overs while N.Ike, Munik Shresta and Kamaran Khan grabbed one wicket apiece.

In reply, Haverford got off to their best start of the tour, openers Sarjtaj Bhunian (22) and Shresta (52) putting on 71 for the first wicket before Hollis made the initial breakthrough.

Seven runs later DeSilva claimed the prized scalp of Shresta who hit 11 fours off 38 balls during his top knock before the visitors slid from 79 for two to 105 for seven, three wickets falling on 105 as St.George?s pair Oronde Bascome and Foggo turned the screws.

However, Haverford?s tail wagged as Eric Ludquist (two) and Karan Shah (16) added 31 runs for the eighth wicket, and Ike (ten not out) and David Hartman (four) added another 20 runs for the tenth wicket before Foggo had the latter caught to apply the finishing touches to Bermuda?s third straight win over the visitors by a convincing margin.

Bascome finished with two wickets for 14 runs off four overs while Daz Simons, Hollis and DeSilva managed one wicket apiece.

Haverford return to the USA today.
