A total of three new cases of the coronavirus have been identified – all in residents who returned from overseas.

The health ministry said last night the cases all came in last Thursday on JetBlue flights from the US – two infections from New York and one from Boston.

The cases were among 5,021 tests taken between last Thursday and Saturday.

A spokeswoman for the health ministry said there had been four recoveries since the last update.

There are nine active infections, with one in hospital but not in intensive care.

The eight non-hospitalised cases are being monitored by public health officials.

The island’s World Health Organisation country status remained at “community transmission”.

The news came as Kim Wilson, the health minister, reminded people to turn up on time for tests at the temporary clinic in the Perot Post Office in Hamilton.

Ms Wilson told the public: “If you do not come at the appointment time, it creates delays and long lines.

“If you need to change your scheduled time, call the Covid-19 hotline centre on 444 2498.

A mobile vaccination clinic will be at Penno’s Wharf in St George’s today from 10am to 2pm.

A clinic will be run at the Fairmont Southampton from 10am to 2pm on Thursday.

The Transport Control Department in Pembroke will be the venue for Saturday’s vaccinations between 10am to 2pm.

A free minibus service to and from the pop-up clinics is available.

To register, phone 533 5903 between 10am and 1.30pm.

Ms Wilson added people who been vaccinated overseas and wanted a Government vaccination certificate should e-mail vaccine@gov.bm.

She added: “They must provide proof of their vaccination, including dates, vaccine type and vaccination centre.”
