pupils link reading with a sense of accomplishment.

They recently put the final link in a paper chain made up of more than 3,000 links representing books the pupils had read.

The successful reading project -- the idea of reading teacher Mrs. Kathy Robinson -- produced a paper chain long enough to encircle the school building. "Those who read little read more, and the avid readers outdid themselves,'' she said. Pupils and teachers linked up the chain and pulled it around the school grounds to display their achievement. The children also dressed up as their favourite story book characters.
