Three trucks and 11 firefighters were called to the dump shortly before 2 p.m.

The earth mover, which was used to push trash at the dump, had about $6,000 damage. The cause was not immediately known.

Also on Wednesday, the Fire Service was called to a pole fire outside Giant Foods on Middle Road in Warwick.

The pole was arcing and causing "quite a spectacle,'' a spokesman said. The Fire Service stood by while Belco made repairs.
