Motorcyclist suffers head injuries in crash

Police are asking the public for assistance in locating a reported stolen car

A 21-year-old man suffered head injuries in a collision in Sandys yesterday afternoon.

Police said a car and a motorcycle were involved in the incident at the junction of Somerset Road and Sound View Road in Sandys which they were called to at 3.20pm.

A police spokesman said: “A 21-year-old Sandys man was riding a motorcycle south on Somerset Road and a 75-year-old Sandys man was driving a car out of Sound View Road – attempting to make a right turn on to Somerset Road – when the collision occurred.

“The motorcyclist apparently sustained head injuries as well as a fractured collar bone and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment, where he is currently in stable condition.”

The driver of the car was not injured.
