A motorcyclist was taken to hospital last night after crashing his scooter into a lamppost. Police said the man, a 31-year-old Colombian, complained of shoulder and upper arm pain after the accident, but his injuries were not thought to be serious. Fire crews and an ambulance attended the crash outside West Pembroke School on North Shore Road at about 10.20 p.m. A police officer said the vehicle was travelling towards Spanish Point.
