Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) chapter in Bermuda, it was announced yesterday.

ISACA, which has 144 chapters, is the regulatory body for the professional designation Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Members are involved in Internet security, cryptography and electronic commerce.

The designation, in existence for 16 years, is becoming increasingly sought after with 3,355 candidates writing the 1995 exam. There are about 9,000 individuals with CISA designation.

An information seminar about the association is slated Wednesday at 5.15 p.m.

at the Bank of Bermuda's Compass Point offices on Bermudiana Road.

Cathy Graham, a spokesman for the local chapter, said networking and sitting the CISA designation exam -- people seeking to write the exam now have to travel abroad -- are among the benefits of the local chapter.

Mrs. Graham, an electronic data processing auditor with the Bank of Bermuda, also said the local chapter plans to hold monthly meetings at which individuals could discuss subjects of interest to members.
