Always strive to get better

Better. The other evening I watched a great discussion with some of golf’s elder statesmen. Gary Player was asked how he approached each tournament. His answer was very telling - “I was always in pursuit of better!” He explained that he felt there were always improvements he could make to his game so that each time he might do better than the last.

What a wonderful, positive philosophy. You can never allow yourself to plateau and never change or improve — you have to keep moving forward, examine all possibilities, and continue to make changes — some that work and some that don’t work. The key is to make progress and to strive to be better. What will you do today?

“Don’t get older; get better: Live realistically. Give generously. Adapt willingly. Trust fearlessly. Rejoice daily.” - Charles R Swindoll
