Insurers’ shares fall

Insurers Argus Group Holdings Ltd and BF&M Ltd both fell in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

Argus slumped 25 cents, or 5.3 percent, to $4.50 on the trading of 1,000 shares. BF&M dipped 24 cents, or 1.4 percent, to close on $17.26 as 300 shares changed hands.

The only stock to advance was Ascendant Group Ltd, owner of electricity company Belco, which climbed 25 cents, or 3.6 percent, to $7.25, as 10,000 shares were traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 3.98 points, or 0.28 percent, to close the week on 1,412.35. Volume was 27,500 shares, while Bermuda dollar turnover was $90,593.

Among the BSX-listed international companies, 24,500 shares traded in HSBC Holdings Ltd, generating US dollar turnover of $253,575.
